the joy of being a woman
So last friday was my office holiday party... it was dressy but not black tie so i decided to wear a black skirt and red sweater to be festive. The party was right after work so I brought my clothes so i could change in the gym locker room at my office. First, I had to run out to CVS and buy pantyhose because goodness knows i don't own a pair, i can't even remember the last time i put a pair on. Def not my thing. So my coworker veronica and i ran to CVS quick, then back to the office where we met my other friend jackie in the locker room to get ready. So we're there, prepping as girls do, and i change, brush my hair, and put on my pantyhose. Or i tried. And tried. and tried..... no lie, it took 45 min for me to freakin get them on! Stupid stupid stupid tights! I was literally sweating, stressing out, doing anything i could not to tear them yet stretch them out and get them all the way up.... awful, i never want to wear them again. ever. veronica and jackie cheered me on the whole time inbetween fits of laughter. and i get to work with them every day. awesome.

i don't have twitter. maybe i should, look how fascinating my day is today!!!
6:15 ugh, monday morning again, at least it's light outside
6:20 oatmeal, some mornings this tastes better than others.... today it tastes like what i invision prisoners get
7:35 rush rush rush, off to work
7:38 shouldn't have bothered to rush, , sitting on the onramp of the highway
8:12 still drumming on my steering wheel, at least i'm on the highway
8:20 guy in creepy child molester van next to me just checked me out
8:35 oddly excited that i actually made it to work
9:26 my coworker already hinting that she might have the flu, "soooooooooo cold"....my guess is she'll go home sick when i go to lunch... waste of a flu shot
9:30 it's so weird that i love starting my mornings with hot green tea now
9:32 burnt my tongue
9:34 much better now
10:00 working hard
11: 32 can my coworker possibly sniff ANY louder? we get it, you're SO sick
11:58 diet coke time despite the article my mom sent about how it's destroying my body... sometimes ignorance is bliss
12:01 daydreaming about how nice it is outside, wishing i were at the park
12:08 her cough drop smells... that won't really help with the FLU will it? i bet it's swine
12:30 peanut butter & jelly time!!! i know i'm so mature
2:07 now she's sooooooooooooo hot... MUST be swine
2:19 turkish hour!!! forced to hear our resident crazy turk going nuts on the phone
2:44 hypothesized with coworkers on ways to get an escaped helium birthday balloon down from the ceiling
4:37 busy day!!! and still going strong...
4:59 shocked that my coworker actually stayed the entire day. maybe she was healed
5:20 just ate the last peppermint patty in my desk drawer... no more survival food! sign that it's time to go
5:34 stole more peppermind patties from the candy bowl... life is good again!
5:35 calling it a day.... off to the pool for hopefully an amazing swim. thanks for reading!!!

wow they are really growing up! looks like the "make a weird face for the camera" is a small family gene ;)

pour some sugar on me
lara to mom on phone- "i made a pumpkin pie from scratch!"
mom- "good for you! you followed the recipe on the pumpkin spice mix?"
lara- "yep, pumpkin spice, 2 eggs, evaporated milk, and pumpkin"
mom- "and sugar."
lara- "what?"
mom- "and 3/4 cups sugar"
lara- "crap"
mom- "throw it out"
lara- "can't we put some sugar on the fork with each bite?"
mom- "pitch it"
lara- "but it's so pretty"

oh the joys of a lake
today was gorgeous! so we went to the lake....
jer posed like this voluntarily... dogs were a bit confused lol
usually molly does all the swimming and shelby steals the stick at the very edge of the water... but sometimes, they bring it in together... it's so cute..... and sometimes shelby is just plain stupid, like here she is swimming after a duck. We were going to let her go, see how far she'd swim out and then we realized she was almost in the middle of the lake with no signs of slowing down. Jer & I had a quick debate who would swim out and save her if she drowned, so we called her back. Flashbacks of me rescuing molly in this very same spot.....
